Fleet Service Technicians provide customer service in performing commercial tyre servicing on vehicles, commercial trucks, utility vehicles, heavy construction equipment, and off road forestry vehicles for Bridgestone customers. The role is based from a fleet service centre and requires travel to customer premises and fleet yards.
· An interest in mechanical work and customer service work
· Experience working with motor vehicles and good mechanical skills
· Interest in practical or manual work with an aptitude for technical specifications.
· Effective teamwork and cooperation skills, with good communication skills
· Ability to complete Company Wheel alignment Technician modules as part of the Bridgestone Customer Satisfaction Diploma requirements.
· Responsible for maintaining designated customer fleets, fleet service requirements and performing daily fleet service runs as assigned by store manager or service manager.
· Build a direct relationship with contracted customers and their fleet service customers and be available for their fleet servicing requirements
· Liaise with fleet customers who operate 24/7 on their requirements and scheduled servicing.
· Provide customer tyre fitments and servicing reports to store manager for reporting requirements to Head Office.
· Prepare appropriate paperwork for each fleet servicing job, i.e. credits, claims.
· Attend to any customer and telephone
· Promote sales of Bridgestone New Zealand Ltd products and services to all customers and contribute to building good customer relationships.
· Ensure job cards are completed accurately and fully with all relevant customer work and any sales servicing provided.
· Assist in the completion of all paperwork and computerised invoicing in a timely and accurate fashion.
· Ensure personal presentation and grooming are maintained to a standard in accordance with the Bridgestone New Zealand Ltd Retail Standards Manual.
· Other relevant duties as directed by the store manager.
· Ensure the workshop and all working, service bay areas and vehicles are kept clean, clutter free and tidy at all times.
· Use protective safety equipment provided when operating machinery and manual working tools (e.g. hoist, grinder, floor jacks, impact gun, compressor and work tools) ensuring safe working practices for yourself and your workmates.
· Understand and familiarise yourself with company Occupational Health & Safety Manuals in order to recognize what hazards are applicable to your role and working area.
· Inform immediate manager of any workplace potential hazards and any machinery or tools requiring servicing or repair.
· Exercise continuous workplace safety awareness and your obligations to work in a safe manner by learning to identify, isolate and minimize potential workplace hazards that may cause injury either to yourself, your workmates or to any customers.
